Abstract
783,945. Stethoscopes. SOC. BELGE D'OPTIQUE ET D'INSTRUMENTS DE PRECISION SOC. ANON. Dec. 22, 1955 [Dec. 28, 1954], No. 36750/55. Class 81 (2). A stethoscope comprises a case 1, closed at the bottom by a plane diaphragm 2 made of cellulose acetate, and housing an inertia element 3, floatingly secured to the case by washers 4, 5 and a tubular diaphragm 8. The diaphragm 8 is fixed at its upper end to an adjustable tube 9, the threaded part of which passes through the plug 10 and the rotatable knob 11 and which terminates in a collar 12 for the attachment of the listening tube. The diaphragm 2 is protected and insulated against external sounds by a cylindrical part 14.
