783,637. Automatic exchange equipment. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. April 5, 1955 [April 5, 1954], No. 9984/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (4). A subscriber's number sending device comprises a keyboard which inserts into the loop either a resistance, or a rectifier, or a combination of both, in respect of each digit to be signalled, and direct current is passed sequentially in the two directions round the loop, the current in the two cases controlling the operation of marginal differential relays at the exchange, each relay having one winding traversed by these currents, and another subjected to a constant current in a local circuit. The relays so operated in each case cause the operation of corresponding relays of two further sets of relays, respectively, and a circuit is completed over contacts of these further relays to a lead indicative of the value of the digit signalled.
