Abstract

Porous, permeable, water-stable granules of clay having ion-exchange properties are obtained by mixing clay with a hydrolysed organic silicate, heating to a temperature below 600 DEG C. and crushing the product to granules. Ethyl silicate and a temperature of 200 DEG -400 DEG C. are specified.
