Abstract

783,436. Crop sprayers. FOUR OAKS SPRAYING MACHINE CO., Ltd. Jan. 27, 1956 [March 31, 1955], No. 30951/54. Class 69 (3). A spraying machine of the type in which a liquid storage tank 2 is mounted on a tractor, or a vehicle coupled thereto, and a pump 3 is arranged to pump liquid from the tank, is provided with two hose reels 9 rotatably mounted by their hollow hubs 10 on a fixed tubular axle 6 above the tank. Liquid is fed separately via pipes 4, 5 to the opposite ends of the axle, and liquid flows through axle outlets 17 to the hollow hubs and then to the hoses through hose connectors 18. The reels are spaced by sleeves 14, 14a and the sides of the reels make liquid-tight connection with the ends of the hubs. Valves 24 control the liquid supply to each hose, and laterally extending members 20, 22 with rollers 23 support the hose during spraying. Angularly adjustable sockets 36 may support spray booms fed from hoses 26a. A number of knap-sack sprayer containers 27 may be filled with liquid by hoses 30 connected to valved outlets 29 in a pipe 28 connected to the pump supply. Specification 759,626 is referred to.
