Abstract
Moisture-insensitive, difficulty inflammable films are made from cellulosic plastic material plasticized with phosphoric acid esters of hydroxydiphenyls or mixed esters of phosphoric acid with hydroxydiphenyls and other organic hydroxy compounds, e.g. phenol or cresols. The cellulosic plastic material may consist of organic cellulose esters, ethers, mixed esters, mixed ethers or ether-esters. A specified plasticizer is a 1 : 1 mixture of di-phenyl-mono-(o-diphenyl) phosphate and di-phenyl-mono-(m-diphenyl) phosphate, but several other examples are also given.ALSO:Phosphoric acid esters of hydroxydiphenyls or mixed esters of phosphoric acid with hydroxydiphenyls and other hydroxy compounds, e.g. phenol or cresols, are prepared in known manner for use as plasticizers in the production of cellulose-derivative films. Specified esters are di - phenyl - mono - (o - diphenyl) phosphate, mono - phenyl - di - (p - diphenyl) phosphate, mono - phenyl - mono - (p - diphenyl) - mono-(o - diphenyl) phosphate, di - phenyl - mono-(m - diphenyl) phosphate, mono - phenyl - di-(o - diphenyl) phosphate, di - phenyl - mono - (p-diphenyl)phosphate and mono-phenyl-di-(m-diphenyl)phosphate.
