Abstract
781,709. Moulding chocolate; endless-chain moulding-machines. MIKROVAERK AKTIESELSKAB. March 14, 1955 [March 17, 1954], No. 7421/55. Class 87(2). A hollow chocolate article is cast in a mould cavity 24 formed in complementary mould parts 22, 23 which are hinged together at 20, so that after casting the chocolate shells separately, the part 23 may be swung through 180 degrees to unite the shells. The mould part 22 is mounted on a frame 22<SP>1</SP> having rails 28 which engage in grooves 27 in mould carriers 26 which may be mounted on endless bands. The mould part 23 is held in a mould carrier by resilient clips 29 or in a modification, Fig. 5, (not shown) by pawls. In a further modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the mould parts may be hinged to each other about an axis at right angles to that shown in Fig. 2. The moulds mounted on bands 1, Fig. 1, are passed through a heater 2, filled with chocolate at 3, vibrated at 4, inverted by rollers 6, 7 to allow excess chocolate to fall into a tray 5, whilst being vibrated at 8, scraped at 9 and 10, heated at 12 to soften the edges of the chocolate shells, closed at 14 to unite the shells, vibrated at 15, and finally cooled at 16.
