Class 98(2) [Also in Group XXX] Apparatus for transporting thin paper, or other flexible sheets, through a developing or fixing bath 1 of the kind comprising shafts 14, 15, Fig. 1, arranged parallel to each other and having equally-spaced discs 17, 19 secured thereto, the discs of one shaft being in staggered relation to the discs of the other shaft and being in partial overlapping arrangement with them, is characterized by the provision of shafts 12, 13 above the bath, each, each of which has spaced discs 16, 18 mounted thereon which are relatively displaced. Shafts 23, 24, 25 carrying similarly disposed discs 5 are mounted above the trough. The discs project through slots in an upper guide plate 2<SP>1</SP> and extend nearly to the lower guide plate 2. Ribs 6, Fig. 2, restrict the area of contact between the sheet and the guide. The peripheries of the discs may be ribbed, milled, toothed or corrugated. Specification 671,938 is referred to.
