780,607. Polishing devices. BOURGEOIS, D. G. Dec. 30, 1955 [Jan. 15, 1955], No. 1301/55. Class 19. A combined waxing and polishing device has a waxing surface 16, and a polishing surface 17 on opposite sides of a carrier 1 that is pivotally mounted on a support 13, 11, 10, 9, 6 which includes a shaft 6 projecting from one side only of the carrier 1, and the centre of gravity of the mass pivotally mounted on the shaft 6 is displaced from the axis of the shaft in order that when the support is lifted the carrier swings to a pre-determined altitude on the support. The shaft 6 extends substantially completely between opposite sides of the carrier, and is mounted in bearings adjacent to each side of the carrier. The carrier 1 is so loaded with a mass 4 that the borderline between the surfaces 16, 17 is vertical when the carrier is freely suspended from the support. Slots or grooves are provided in the preferably cuboidal carrier to facilitate the attachment of the waxing and/ or polishing elements.
