Abstract

779.845. Brushes. OSBORN MANUFACTURING CO. June 8, 1955 [Aug. 26, 1954], No. 16498/55. Class 19 In a brush element in which a layer of brush material 1 is secured within a channel member 5 by a retaining element 4 extending longitudinally within said channel, the element 4 is crimped relatively to. and before insertion into said channel and is sufficiently ductile to maintain the stretched condition when said crimp is at least partially straightened by imposition of longitudinal tension thereon. The element is preferably of sinusoidally crimped wire of which the preferred dimensions and qualities are specified, and is included in brush element such as described in Specifications 645,407 and 710,222, which are referred to.
