Abstract
A sulphonated phenolic resin is produced by sulphonating a mixture of a phenol, e.g. phenol, thymol, bromothymol or preferably chlorothymol, and a glyceride, preferably olive oil or tobacco seed oil, and successively reacting the resultant product with firstly a polyhydric alcohol, preferably propylene glycol, secondly an unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde, preferably acrolein, and lastly a phenol, preferably resorcinol.ALSO:A sulphonated condensation product is produced by sulphonating a mixture of a phenol, e.g. phenol, thymol, bromothymol or preferably chlorothymol, and a glyceride, preferably olive oil or tobacco seed oil, and successively reacting the resultant product with firstly a polyhydric alcohol, preferably propylene glycol, secondly an unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde, preferably acrolein, and lastly a phenol, preferably resorcinol.ALSO:A germicide is produced by sulphonating a mixture of a phenol, preferably chlorothymol, and a glyceride, preferably olive oil or tobacco seed oil, and successively reacting the resultant product with firstly a polyhydric alcohol, preferably propylene glycol, secondly an unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde, preferably acrolein, and lastly a phenol preferably resorcinol.
