Abstract

776,881. Holders for thermionic valves. PLESSEY CO., Ltd. Sept. 29, 1955 [Oct. 18, 1954], No. 29940/54. Class 38 (1). A valve-holder consisting of a moulded insulating body 1 having a flanged upper portion for engagement by a mounting saddle and a ring of contact-receiving apertures, has contacts 7 formed from T-shaped blanks, the lateral arms of each blank being bent through 90 degrees to form wings 7a, these wings having depending portions which are bent towards each other to form pin-gripping prongs 7b. Each aperture in the body is formed with shelves 5b, 5c defining a slot extending through to the underside of the body, and the contact has a kink 7d in its stem portion 7c which rests on. the shelves, the stem portion extending through the slot to form a terminal and being bent at 7e to engage the underside of the body and prevent withdrawal.
