775,715. Copy-turning. GUIDO, J. April 18, 1955 [May 5, 1954], No. 11160/55. Class 83(3). A device for producing flats on the ends of workpieces to give a square, hexagonal or similar form comprises a replaceable cutter-head 8 supported by a rotating-spindle 7 which is arranged eccentrically in a drum 2 coaxial with the stationary work 1. The drum is rotated by belts 15 and the spindle 7 carries a gear 13 in a recess in the drum and engaging a fixed ring- gear 14. The number of flats formed on the work is dependent on the number of cutting tools 9 in the head (two in the example shown) and on the gear-ratio between the gears 14, 13 A 2 : 1 ratio is used in the embodiment described
