[Also in Group XL (c)] Interference caused by accompanying amplitude-modulated sound signals in the picture reproduced by a television receiver is reduced by including a filter which suppresses signals having a frequency corresponding to the difference between the sound and vision carriers in the circuit between the vision detector and the picture reproducing tube. This arrangement, whilst giving sufficient sound rejection in the reproduced picture, allows some sound interference to remain on the synchronizing signals and this effect is reduced either by " flywheel " techniques or by causing cancellation of the interference by combining signals derived from the sound channel in suitable amplitude and phase with the composite vision signals prior to separation of the synchronizing signals.
