Abstract

772,552. Ironing. HUMER, A. Jan. 14, 1955, No. 1179/55. Class 138 (2). A device for use in pressing garments comprises a plurality of supports 3 which can, in turn, be mounted on a pedestal 1, each support having a shaped resilient face corresponding to the configuration of a different part of parts of a garment. Each support 3 is adjustably mounted in a sleeve 2 on the pedestal 1. In the example shown in Fig. 3 the support comprises a supporting sheet 5, a layer of fibrous material 8 such as flax fibres with a binder, a core 9 of finely divided cork, a layer of foam-plastic 7 and a textile cover 6. In another embodiment (not shown) the support has the shape of the human body and is rotatably mounted between two pedestals.
