A control system for an industrial process wherein the same process is carried out simultaneously in a plurality of operating units and is controlled by the same agent in each unit, comprises means to measure continuously a variable in one unit and to vary the control agent in all units in response to deviations of the variable from a set value, and means to measure continuously the same variable in another unit, the two measuring means being so connected that when their outputs become out of balance, the first measuring means is disconnected from the control or a visual and/or an aural alarm is actuated. The invention is described with reference to the disclosure in Specification 772,281. Specifications 728,778, [Group IV (a)], 737,629 and 744,319, [Group IV (a)], also are referred to.
