771,821. Peeling machines. SOC. D'ETUDE ET D'EXPLOITATION CHIMIE ET MECANIQUE E. C. E. M. Oct. 18, 1955 [Oct. 25, 1954], No. 29701/55. Class 28(2) In peeling potatoes &c. by agitating them inside an abrasive cylinder by depending resilient abrasive fingers moved around inside the cylinder, the fingers 16, 17 are removably secured to blocks 12 secured to a top plate 1 carried and rotated by the rotary spindle A. The sides of a slot 2 form the drive from the rotary spindle A. Each metal finger 16, Fig. 3, carrying abrasive covering or discs 17 is secured by a removable staple 18 to one of the depending extensions 14 of a resilient block 12. Each block 12 is' mounted radially to the top plate 1 by being gripped between wires 7 of a clip, Fig. 5, the ends 6 of which are entered in slots in a boss la of the plate 1 and locked therein by a sliding ring 11, Fig. 6, so that a whole block 12 can be removed to replace any worn fingers.
