Abstract

Polymers and copolymers of acrylonitrile are dissolved in an aqueous solution of the zinc chloride-ammonium chloride complex ZnCl2.-2NH4Cl. The solvent mixture may consist of 30-45 per cent of zinc chloride, 23-45 per cent of ammonium chloride and 20-40 per cent of water. The solutions are used in the preparation of fibres.
