771,242. Locking-nuts &c. GUEST, KEEN & NETTLEFOLDS (MIDLANDS), Ltd. Jan. 13, 1955 [Jan. 19, 1954], No. 1628/54. Class 89(1). A screw-threaded nut bolt has a locking-body of resilient material which projects beyond the thread - root and comprises a polyamide of general formula - - - HN-R-CO-(NH -R-CO) x -NH-RCO - - -, where x is sufficiently large in number to ensure that the material is solid in the temperature range 0‹ to 70‹ C., and R is a hydrocarbon group, preferably C 5 H 10 . The preferred material is that produced by the polymerization of an #-lactam, particularly e-caprolactam, and sold under the Registered Trade Mark " Grilon." In one arrangement, the locking-body is formed by a ring 14, Fig. 1, held in a recess 12 in a nut 10. In a modification, the body is formed by a radial plug projecting into the threads. In another arrange. ment, the body is formed by a radially-disposed peg 17, Fig. 2, in the screwed part 15 of a bolt.
