[Also in Group XXXV] In an electric spark cutter of the kind in which a direct current is passed between a vibrating electrode and the workpiece, the electrode assembly is automatically fed towards the work in accordance with electrode current (see Group XXXV). The electrode 20 is mounted on a head 11 which is on a vertical slide 21. A pinion 35 engaging a rack 36 enables the head to be adjusted either by hand wheel 34 or servomotor 25 when the latter is engaged by being pivoted by cam-shaft 42. The slide 21 is mounted on a tube 15 horizontally adjustable on a main pillar 12. The head is counterbalanced by a weight 55. Specifications 578,933, 588,659 and 610,709 are referred to.
