Abstract
771,035. Fish dressing machines. BAADER, R. G. T. June 17, 1955 [Nov. 5, 1954], No. 17605/55. Class 28(2) Fish to be cut, cleaned &c. are pushed, belly down, over the dressing tools 8, 10 and 9 by grippers 3 which press on the back of the fish while the tools operate on the belly side. Each fish 19 placed in a stationary feed trough preferably belly down and headed end leading is pushed by other grippers 18 on to the shaft end 23 of a saddle shaped guide 11 which end 23 penetrates the belly of the fish. The grippers 3 then slide the fish along the diverging guide 11 between a pair of belly cutting disc knives 8, and then proceeds similarly to a belly cleaning disc where it is pressed on the disc by resilient fingers 15. A top groove in the guide 11 accommodates the underside of the vent-to-tail part of the fish. Further sliding by the grippers 3 slides the fish along to a pair of disc knives 9 which cut out the backbone the fish again being pressed on the knives by other spring guides 22. The grippers 3 on an endless belt conveyer 1 are resiliently pressed on the fish by rollers 4 on a spring pressed lever 5. The other grippers 18 in the feed trough 16 are also mounted on an endless belt 17.
