770,733. Hydraulic turbines. NYDQVIST & HOLM AKTIEBOLAG. June 3, 1955, No. 15996/55. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXIX] A sealing device for the wicket gates of hydraulic turbines comprises a rigid channel member 3 of dovetail section, and a rubber strip 2 secured in the channel member by vulcanization, the channel member being mounted in a groove in the gate 1 in such a position as to be contacted by an adjacent gate 1A. The strip 2 is additionally secured by pins 6 passing through transverse holes in the strip and the channel member. The groove which is also of dovetail shape is completed by a detachable retaining bar 4 secured by screws 5. Leakage of fluid between the channel member and the gate 1 is prevented by a rubber seal 7.
