[Also in Group XXVIII] Braided layers in a flexible hose each comprise a helical course 20 of relatively stiff, hightensile strength, load-carrying webs 21 and an oppositely-wound helical course 22 of relatively flexible tie-in webs 23. The webs 21 are free from crimps and comprise a number of brassplated wires 31 arranged in groups or bunches in which the strands of wire are piled one on another in several layers, and the webs 23 are of twisted cotton yarns 32 lying side-by-side and are sharply crimped to a depth substantially equal to the thickness of the webs 21.
