Class 97(1) A knife for a refrigerating microtome comprises a blade formed with channels 3 for the supply of refrigerant. Preferably the channels communicate with a channel 2, at the back of the blade, connected to a supply pipe 7. The cutting edge may be formed on a separate portion 5, of hard material, attached to the body 1 in which the channels are formed.
