March 29, 1955, No. 9102/55 Class 81(2) An appliance for collecting seminal fluid for artificial insemination is thermally insulated around a sleeve for containing warm water, to maintain an even temperature. For use with bulls, the appliance comprises a tube 1 of cellular rubber through which a thin rubber tube 6 extends, having its ends turned back over relatively rigid rubber bands 2, to provide an annular space into which water may be introduced through an orifice closed by a plug 4. A rubber end cap 8 joins this assembly to a collecting tube 11, preferably made as a vacuum flash, and these items are enclosed in cellular rubber covers 12, 13. A modified appliance having a differently shaped end closure is described for use with stallions.
