Abstract

767,341. Treating fingerprinted paper.. ODEN, S. Sept. 11, 1954, No. 26357/54. Class 96. Fingerprints occurring on paper &c., e.g. stationery, blotting, greaseproof, or bank note paper are made visible by treatment with an amino-acid or protein indicator, e.g. ninhydrin in acetone or ether, &c., to which may be added some acid, e.g. acetic acid. The solution may be sprayed on as a fine mist and the paper dried for 1 to 3 minutes at 80‹ to 120‹ C. The development may be interrupted with a copper salt to make the fingerprints more durable. Amido black, dissolved in acetous methanol may be used as a protein indicator.
