Abstract
767.322. Sugar dissolvers. HANSELLAWERK A. HENKEL AKT.-GES MASCHINEN-FABRIK. June 25, 1954 [July 27, 1953], No. 18778/54. Class 127 In apparatus for making a preparation of sugar, water and glucose or invert sugar syrup for manufacturing sweets there are means for feeding the respective ingredients continuously to a heated dissolving vessel, means for adjusting the speed of operation of one or more of these feeding means, and a dissolving vessel divided to form a number of channels through which mixed ingredients to pass successively. With the apparatus of Figs. 1, 2 and 5, the devices for deliveries of sugar, water and syrup are operated from a shaft 16 driven by a motor 1 at a speed adjusted by turning a wheel 8 to move a belt 5 on tapered pulleys 3 and 4, the sugar being taken from a hopper 18 by a measuring wheel 19 mounted on the shaft 16, dropped to a screw 20 driven from a gear wheel 10, and conveyed by this screw to the dissolving vessel, the water being delivered to the dissolving vessel by a pump 23 having a piston 33 which is operated, through a link 27. by a crank disc 24 on the shaft 16, and which is adjusted with regard to length of stroke by turning of a wheel 30 to move a block 31 to the required position on the link 27, and the syrup, supplied through a line 41, being delivered to the dissolving vessel by means of a pump 42 driven from the shaft 16 through wheels 63, 64. 65, 66 and 67, of which the pair 66 and 67 are in selected transmission ratio. The dissolving vessel of Figs. 2 and 3 is heated by a steam pipe 49 and comprises a steam-heated-receiver 44 for the sugar and water, a device 50 for preheating the syrup. an outer channel 45 into which the heated sugar-water mixture spills from the receiver 44, an inner channel into which the mixture overflows after traversing the channel 45, a central space 47 into which the mixture overflows after traversing the channel 46 and into which the syrup from the pre-heating device 50 flows, and an exit overflow G. There is illustrated also a steam-jacketed dissolving vessel wherein the sugar-water mixture flows successively from one compartment to another, wherein the syrup is added in the final compartment, and wherein each compartment is provided with an agitator.
