Abstract

766,676. Electroplating. JONES & CO. (ENGINEERING), Ltd., S., and PHILLIPS, C. H. May 3, 1955 [May 3, 1954], No. 12846/54. Class 41. A method of electroplating the internal surface of a container 1 having a narrow neck 2 comprises inserting a number of anodes 3, e.g. six, each secured to a separate axially off-set rod 4, in the container 1 so as to lie in spaced relationship on a circumference greater than that on which the rods 4 lie, the rods 4 being locked in position in a jig 10. One end of each rod 4 is bent at 5 and screwed into the anode 3, the other end of each rod 4 having a tapered stem 14 which fits in a slot formed between the six arms 10a of the jig 10 which has an integral, central rod 13 connected to a current source at 9. The stems 14 are dropped in the slots after the rods 4 have been inserted and suitably orientated in the container 1.
