Abstract

766,611. Agricultural implements. SALOPIAN ENGINEERS, Ltd. Dec. 5, 1955 [Dec. 7, 1954 ; Jan. 27, 1955], Nos. 35330/54 and 2423/55. Class 6(1). A semi-mounted tractor implement comprises a supporting member pivotally mounted on the lower links of a tractor lift linkage for movement about an axis parallel to the axes of the tractor wheels and a tool carrying frame pivotally connected to the supporting member for transverse movement and a supporting furrow wheel depending from the tool-carrying frame. As shown applied to a multi-disc plough, discs 10 are mounted on a tube 9 which is provided with connecting members 12, 13 which are welded to a bracket 15 provided with a sleeve 16 which is rotatably mounted on a trunnion 14 mounted on the member 8. The tube 9 may be adjusted with respect to the members 12, 13 and the furrow wheel 11 is mounted on an extension 24 pivoted to the tube 9 and adjusted by means of a link 26. The furrow wheel 11 is rotatable about an inclined axis and is adjusted for height by means of a handle 32. A landwheel 30 is carried on brackets below the member 8 and determines the working height of the plough. In a modification the trunnion is extended upwardly and the position of the sleeve on the trunnion may be adjusted by a screw rotatable by a handle. The top of the trunnion may be provided for pivotal connection through a short intermediate link to the top link of a three point hydraulic lift linkage. Raising of the tractor links causes the front of the implement to be raised leaving the furrow wheel in contact with the ground.
