Abstract
766,357. Boxes. HOLMES (PLASTICS), Ltd., G., and DONKIN, W. H. April 27, 1955 [April 28, 1954], No. 12365/54. Class 18. [Also in Group XXI] A container for detonators comprises a box 11 divided into two main compartments by a partition 13 integral with the box which is moulded from synthetic plastic material, e.g. polythene, each compartment being sub-divided by partitioning 14 to form individual detonator cells. A lid 16 is adapted to slide on the box so that only one compartment is exposed to view at a time. A carrying strap may be passed through brackets 12 on the box. The lid 16 has inturned flanges 18, 19 engaging flanges 17 on the box which carries a lock 20 having a bolt 21 spring-pressed into a notch 22, Fig. 3, in the lid until released by a key. One flange 18 ends in a stop 23 which engages the lock casing to limit movement of the lid in one direction, while at the remote end of the other flange 18 is a stop 24 which engages an abutment 25 on the box to limit movement in the opposite direction. To electrically insulate the lock from the detonators, plastic plates are used to line the lockbearing wall of the box, the plates being secured by bosses 28 extending into openings 29. One side of the lid is knurled to provide a grip and the lid may have a depression 30 to receive an identification disc.
