[Also in Group XXI] A mobile transporting or excavating appliance comprises a vehicle chassis which has rolling-off rails arranged at one end for fitting a tipping appliance and between the axles has a platform adjacent the engine for the fitting of a grab, shovel or like jib. The vehicle may have two or four wheel drive and the steering axle c has a bridge member e which is pivoted to the chassis a at p allowing the axle c to swing from side to side for negotiating rough ground. Distance pieces g are inserted between the axle and the chassis to lock the axle c relative to the chassis or to adjust the amplitude of the axle movement.
