Abstract
763,710. Blowing glassware. ROUSSEAU, A. L. and ATELIERS J. HANREZ SOC. ANON. Jan. 28, 1955 [Feb. 27, 1954], No. 2728/55. Class 56 Glass bottles are transferred from the finishing mould 21 to a cooling barrel' 27 and from the cooling barrel to a discharge tube 28 by means of tongs 16, 17 pivoted on the support 11 of the blowhead 12 and operated from the same mechanism that moves the blowhead. For this purpose each pair of tongs is linked to an arm 8 adjustably secured to the shaft 1 and projecting through a longitudinal slot in a hollow hub 10 to which the support 11 is secured. The shaft is rotated and raised and lowered at appropriate times in the cycle from a cam groove and follower and there is lost motion between the arm 8 and sleeve 10. The tongs engage the necks of the bottles just below the collars C.
