Abstract

Continuous synthetic filaments, especially of a polyamide, polyethylene glycol terephthalate or acrylonitrile, are coated with an aqueous solution or suspension of a synthetic resin, e.g. a N. methoxy derivative of nylon '66', polyvinyl acetate or a copolymer of nylon '6' and nylon '66', and are then subjected without tension to a dry heat stabilization treatment, e.g. at 200 DEG to 500 DEG C. The synthetic resin may be applied in an aqueous alcoholic solution.
