The apparatus described. is a liquid flow meter incorporating a magnetic coupling as described and claimed in Specification 733,381 modified by making the surface 13a of magnetic material to exert a braking action if the magnet 14 moves axially into engagement therewith due to misalignment occurring between the coupling members. This permits horizontal mounting. Specification 733,371 also is referred to.
