Abstract

760,393. Cooking-apparatus. NORTH EASTERN GAS BOARD. Oct. 19, 1953 [Oct. 18, 1952], No. 26184/52. Class 28(1) [Also in Group XI] A deep fat fryer has one or more sets of flue-ways 2 immersed in the pan and connecting a combustion chamber 3 at the front of the pan with a flue 4 at the rear, the combustion chamber being outside the pan and extending the full width of the pan. The flue ways 2 are of inverted pear shape in cross-section, and support a close meshed grid, not shown, which prevents large particles falling to the bottom of the pan. A quick opening valve provided in the steeply dished base 5 of the pan enables it to be rapidly emptied so as to flush away fine particles. A double row of gas jets 7 is arranged in the combustion chamber 3, so that air entering at 8 passes through the flames.
