Abstract

759,130. Artificial flowers. FRISTOT, A. J. Nov. 30, 1954 [Dec. 31, 1953; Oct. 13, 1954], No. 34723/54. Class 63. An artificial flower is formed by assembling separate elements 6, 8, 10, Figs. 3-5, each comprising a petal row moulded as a unit with a frusto-conical thimble-shaped support with a perforated bottom, the supports 7, 9, 12 being fitted one inside the other as shown in Fig. 9 so that the corresponding rows of petals are spaced vertically the desired amount. The centre of the flower may be formed by a further row of petals 2, Fig. 7, moulded as a unit with attaching members 3 extending radially from a central stem 4, Fig. 9, the stem 4 and members 3 being threaded through the apertures in the supports 7, 9, 12 so that the petals 2 move inwardly to form the centre of the flower. The bulge formed at the roots of the members 3 serve to hold the various elements together and parts 5 on the members 3 abut against the bottom of the support 7. A moulded calyx 13 is threaded over the stem 4. In a modification, Fig. 11 (not shown), the stem is not moulded as a unit with the flower centre but comprises a wire 15 secured to the flower centre and over which is threaded a tubular stem 27. Artificial leaves 29, 31 having tubular base portions may be threaded over the stem 27.
