759,125. Illuminant enclosure. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Nov. 16, 1954 [Nov. 19, 1953], No. 33172/54. Class 75(2). A tubular lamp 1 is surrounded by a flexible transparent envelope 4 so as to leave a space between the lamp 1 and the envelope 4 the envelope having a plain internal surface and being of such a thickness that it can be pressed by the fingers against the lamp wall. The envelope 4 will return to its initial shape on release of the finger pressure. The envelope 4 of synthetic resin is supported on the lamp ends 2 by synthetic resin rings 5 and U-section rings 6. The rings 5 may be secured to the envelope 4 or to one ring 6 or one ring 5 may be secured to both the envelope 4 and a ring 6.
