923,973. Lampshades. R. SKIEBE. Sept. 21, 1960, No. 32373/60. Class 75 (2). [Also in Group XV] A multilayer lampshade consists of a rigid, translucent, one-piece carrier layer, an interchangeable decorative layer and a translucent or partly translucent protective layer, the decorative layer and the protective layer being pressed against the carrier layer by a resilient layer having at least one cut-out portion such as a photo-mount or figure. The resilient layer may itself form the protective layer. The layers may be roughened at various points to assist in assembling or may be provided with projections, depressions or perforations for fitting them together. The opposite edges of the layers may be flanged or bent over and spring wire or strip may be introduced into them. In the form shown, the shade is made up of a cylindrical carrier layer 1, a decorative layer 2, a protective layer 3 and a resilient layer 4. The order of the layers may be reversed.
