[Also in Group XI] The heater element 3 (see Group XI) enters and leaves the blanket as a continuous length, and its ends are brought out together and enclosed in a flexible covering 4, the inner end of which is split and has one part passed through the canvas 1, to which the split parts are sewn at 9. Loops of element 3 and the covering 4 are sewn to the canvas at 8, whereby a strain on the outer part of the covering 4 is transmitted directly to the canvas without strain on the element 3.
