Abstract
758,022. Locking levers. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Dec. 17, 1953 [Dec. 18, 1952], No. 35153/53. Class 80(3) [Also in Group XXXVII] A lock for a lever, e.g. operating lever of a switch, has an elongated opening through which the lever passes, the opening being of varying width and the lever having a retractable portion, so that one position of the lever can only be occupied upon retraction of said portion, said lock being formed by two separate component parts. The lever 36 has a spherical part 32 mounted in a bushing 22 and carries a sleeve 42 which is slidably rectilinearly outwards against the action of a spring 48. The two parts 56, 58 of the lock are secured to the outside of the bushing 22 by clips 64 and are made of metal or plastic castings. In Fig. 3, the wider part of the opening in the lock corresponds to the central position of the lever so that the sleeve 42 has to be retracted before the lever can be moved to the left or right. The wider part may alternatively be arranged so that the sleeve can only be received therein in the central and one side position (Fig. 6, not shown), in either side position but not the central (Fig. 7, not shown), or in one side position only (Fig. 8, not shown).
