Class 56 In the drawing of glass or like fibres by the action of gas under pressure on a stream of molten glass, &c., the attenuated fibres being discharged by way of a divergent expansion channel 15 as in the parent Specification, means are provided for causing a turbulence in the pressure fluid before it meets the molten glass coming from the apertures 7. These means may comprise obstacles 18 in the path of the pressure fluid and which may be formed on the base of the melt container 1, as shown, and also on the inside of the enclosure 3 into which the pressure fluid is admitted from apertures 4, 5.
