Abstract

756,455. Refrigerator and oven shelves. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Oct. 15, 1954 [Oct. 16, 1953], No. 28616/53. Class 52(1). A removable shelf for a refrigerator, oven or the like comprises a U-shaped member 1 having side bars 1b and a rear bar 1a carrying respectively pins 6 and 7 engageable in rubber grommets 8, 9 mounted in apertures in the side and rear walls of the enclosure, the pins 6 being withdrawable laterally to free the shelf. A front bar 3 is connected by article supports 2 to the rear bar 1a and has parts 3a resting on the extremities of the side bars 1b and parts 3b normally lying inside the side bars 1b to hold pins 6 in grommets 8. To remove the shelf, bar 3 is flexed upwardly and bars 1b are flexed inwardly to withdraw pins 6, bar 3 being then released so that parts 3b come outside the side bars to hold the pins 6 in withdrawn position. The shelf can then be slid out forwardly withdrawing the rear pins 7. Grommets 8, 9 may be omitted.
