Class 68(1) [Also in Group VIII] A stabilizing agent for waterproofing or stabilizing sand or sandy soil comprises a mixture of the powder residue obtained from drying sulphite liquor and a waterinsoluble substance which reduces the solubility and water-attractive characteristics of the powder. The substance may be pentachlorophenol, rosin, powdered resin, tall oil or silicones and is added in the proportion of 0.5-2.0 per cent by weight of the powder residue.
