Abstract
An anti-rheumatic suppository contains calcium salicylate and an inert substance suitable for rectal administration e.g. polyethylene glycol, hypocola or cocoa butter. The suppository may be prepared by thoroughly mixing 160 parts by weight of the inert substance with a mixture of 24 parts salicylic acid and 8 parts calcium carbonate, sterilizing the resultant mixture at about 120 DEG C., and permitting the evolved gases to escape.
