Abstract
752,992. Model aircraft. TESTOR, N. F. Sept. 27, 1954 [March 1, 1954], No. 27902/64. Class 4. A model aircraft comprises a moulded principal frame member 8 formed with a longitudinally extending groove or pocket 10 for the forward end of a tail stick 11, which is cemented in position, and laterally projecting bosses 28 formed with openings 29 to receive the root ends of the wings 30. The openings 29 are cambered lengthwise of the member 8 and inclined both from their rear ends and outwardly from the fuselage wall whereby the wing, when cemented in position, automatically assumes the correct chordwise camber and incidence and dihedral. Further slotted projections 20 are formed on the sides of the member 8 to accommodate the upper portion of the wire undercarriage 23, such portion being sprung into position so that it fits snugly round the member 8. A conventional tail unit and rubber-power means of propulsion are provided and the nose of the member 8 is bored at 14 to receive the propeller shaft 15.
