Abstract
Polyacrylonitrile and copolymers of acrylonitrile, e.g. with acrylamide, are dissolved in a mixture consisting of glycollic acid nitrile and 5-30 per cent, calculated on the weight of the solvent mixture, of the diacetate, dipropionate or dibutyrate of methylene glycol. Fibres are spun from the solutions produced.
