751,990. Lampshades. ELLIS, T. W., and BONE, R. H. June 25, 1954 [March 16, 1954], No. 7685/54. Classes 75(2) and 75(4). A lampshade of reflecting, diffusing or translucent material for a tubular lamp comprises two 'sets of spaced strips 10 ... 13, each set extending lengthwise of the lamp one on each side thereof and spaced cross plates 14...17 of U-shape securing the strips together and receiving the lamp between their limbs, the strips being disposed within the contours of the limbs. The strips are disposed in parallel vertical planes. The inner edges of some of the cross plates have projections 24, 25 which engage the lamp above a horizontal diameter thereof to support the shade and slots 26, 27 are formed from the upper edges of the plates down to the neighbourhood of the projections to permit the plates to be sprung over the lamp. Two or more shades may be assembled together end to end and alignment of the shades is facilitated by a projection 18 on the end cross plate of one shade engaging a notch 19 in the end cross plate of the next shade. The shade is made as a moulding of a plastic material.
