748,502. Flushing cisterns. BARKER, E. G., and SHEARD, J. May 4, 1954 [May 8, 1953], No. 12831/53. Class 26. In a flushing cistern 1 of the trough type containing a number of syphons 3 each arranged to discharge a predetermined volume at each operation, the syphons are mounted each with its inlet leg 6 inside and its outlet leg 7 outside the trough and is supported mainly from the upper edge 2 of the trough side 8 by adjustable screws 5 or other clamping means. A strengthened part 7a of the outlet leg bears against the trough side, and a screw 5a in a lug 10 at the base of the syphon cylinder also serves to retain a measuring chamber 9 in place in the trough.
