Abstract
747,235. Spectacles. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. May 13, 1954 [May 13, 1953], No. 14022/54. Class 97 (1). A viewer device in the form of spectacles comprises a relatively stiff, resilient, deformable strip 10 comprising a metallic core surrounded by a non-metallic coating which supports a spectacle front 24 provided with a pair of lenses 32, 34, and which is extended to form a pair of temples 14, 16. The strip may be a metallic core 22, Fig. 3, surrounded by separator legs 13, 15 of paper, cardboard, cloth or fibres, or by a single layer bent as shown. Alternatively the metal may be surrounded by plastic material. The front 24 may be stamped or cut from cardboard, heavy paper, fibre-board or from plastic and the lenses may be of polarizing material arranged with their axes 36, 38 as shown for viewing three-dimensional projected pictures, or with their axes parallel to act as sunglasses. Alternatively the lenses may be differently coloured for viewing anaglyphs.
