746,784. Constructional metal work. NORDVISTE, I. Sept. 23, 1953 [Sept. 30, 1952], No. 26237/53. Class 20(2). In a structural metal element of angular cross section, one of the flanges 1 is provided with one longitudinal row of elongated openings 3 having semi-circular ends and another flange 2 is provided with a plurality of longitudinal rows of openings, one of said plurality of rows comprising elongated openings 4, Fig. 1 or 41, Fig. 2, with semi-circular ends and the remaining row or rows comprising circular openings 5, Fig. 1 or either 51 or 51 and 511, Fig. 2, the distance between the circular openings of a row and the distance between the centres of the semi-circular ends of successive elongated openings of a row being equal, and the length of the elongated openings between the centres of the semi-circular ends being equal to or twice the distance between adjacent rows, the arrangement being such that the distance between the rows is equal to or twice that between successive circular openings in a row. A third flange 1<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 1, may be provided having a longitudinal row of uniformly spaced openings.
