746,243. Magnetic reproducing apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 24, 1954 [June 27, 1953], No. 18547/54. Class 40(2) In a magnetic dictation apparatus'having parallel helical or spiral tracks on a cylindrical or disc-shaped carrier, fine adjustment of the position of the transducer is effected by relative movement of the leadscrew and record by means of a rotatable stopless cam-disc. Fig. 1 shows a record cylinder 1, and a leadscrew 5 which is adjustable in an axial direction against a spring 9 by a cam 12 manually rotatable by a knob 14. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the shaft 2 of the record cylinder is moved by the cam 12. Fig. 3 shows a similarly axially movable leadscrew in conjunction with a, disc record 21.
